Tortuga

This book was a slow read with lots of symbolism and dreams. I wasn't always sure whether Tortuga, the protagonist was dreaming or if he was experiencing what could be a dream. The gist of the whole story was Tortuga's process from paralysis due to an accident to moving forward.

Amy finds herself and her beau in the thick of things again as they discover another body. This one because of art and forgies not like the one before dealing with history and family property heritage although this was her uncles heritage in painting. With the investigation involving an out of town art investigator being brought in, her aunt has warmed up to him while hosting him as the annual festival gets into full swing. A donated art piece gets stolen that was donated to the festival fundraiser from her uncles collection which is intertwined with the murder. I re-read this book that I first read in 5th or 6th grade over 35 years ago. I enjoyed it again. Scotti and Lorna, almost in 8th grade, complain about their moms and come up with this great idea to swap houses for a few weeks. I just wonder if this has ever happened in real life.

Book #2 in the Book mobile cat mystery series is a fun, light read. Minnie and her cat Eddie manage to get involved in another murder mystery. I think I have found myself a fiction series to continue.

This is the third book in the series. The series has been recommended to me many times. Jim Butcher writes well and James Marsters is a fabulous narrator.

Hidden Valley Road

After watching the 4-part documentary about six sons out of 12 Calvin children who lived with schizophrenia, I was more curious about this family and stoked that a book was written about them. Award-winning journalist Robert Kolker weaved both narrative stories about the Calvin family with medical information about schizophrenia and new research. To read this book, one does not need to be a medical expert. The chapters are shorter and this book is an excellent read. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would double it to 10.

The Little Book Of Hygge

Interesting lifestyle of the Danish which is believed to be the happiest of people in the world. I liked the narrator's voice though this book would probably be better to read in print. There are some recipes of Danish food. Denmark sounds like a great place to live.
